I've been thinking in buying a 32 GB USB 2.0 flash drive for my data storage but as I am surfing the net I found out that PQI one of the manufacturer of flash drive has just launched its 64 GB thumb drive and is a USB 3.0 compliant. USB 3.0 has a 5Gbps/sec maximum bandwith or transfer rate and a read speed of 97Mb/sec. 64GB flash drive is too big for some people but don't worry PQI is also manufacturing a 16 GB and 32 Gb USB 3.0 flash drive. A recent event that shocks and alarms all twitter users, making all there personal cyber informations vulnerable to exploitation or piracy as a whole. A claim says that they are the Iranian Cyber Army, showing their national flag as a protest against USA. Now my questions is, how true is this? Is really the Iranians who did hacking Twitter or it is USA itself who hacks Twitter and points its finger to Iran as the culprit.

We have known that the relationship between Iran and USA is in big question mark due to nuclear issues and because of this reason I do suggest that a thorough investigation must be done before we will point our fingers to somebody else.

You need to update your operating system may it be an XP, Vista, a Linux, a Mac or a Windows 7 for security reasons and other fixes that will help your installed OS to be more secured and stable and I agree with that but the last November 25, 2009 update of Windows 7 has caused some problems to some Windows 7 users creating a ‘Black Screen Of Death or BSOD’ where nothing happens on their PC but by seeing a black desktop after logging on. Microsoft is still investigating the said problem. And here are the steps if your Windows 7 is experiencing the above problem, just follow the steps below;

Steps on how to fix Black Screen of Death in Windows 7:

Restart your PC
Logon and wait for the black screen to appear
Make sure your PC should be able to connect to the internet (black screen does not appear to affect this)
Press the CTRL, ALT and DEL keys simultaneously
When prompted, Click Start Task Manager
In Task Manager Click on the Application Tab
Next Click New Task
Now enter the command: ”C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe” “http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?GRAB=BLACKSCREENFIX”

Note this command assumes that you are using internet explorer as your browser, if not substitute your browser path and file details for those of iexplore.exe or use the Browser option of Task manager to locate it.

Click OK and your browser should start up and begin the download process
When prompted for the download Click run, the black screen fix program will download and run to automatically fix the issue.
Now restart your PC and the black screen problem will hopefully be gone.

If this steps doesn't work just visit microsoft help for more information and guidance.

Dynario fuel-cell is a direct methanol fuel-cell (DMFC) with dedicated fuel cartridge for on-the-go refueling and will be available first in Japan for $ 328 by this coming October 29, 2009. How to Avoid Phishing Attacks on your Social Network Account.

Social networking site like the popular Facebook, Twitter and a lot more are quite the main target of online fraud. We have read and heard from the news that this social networking sites are very vulnerable in online exploitation via emails but this vulnerability can be minimized if the user knows what are the Dos and DONTs as they used and log in on their accounts.

Here are some of the steps that might help your account from online fraud and exploitation.

1. For sites such as Facebook create a bookmark for the log-in page, or type the URL directly into the browser address bar;

2. Don’t click on links in e-mail messages;

3. Only type in confidential data on a secure web site;

4. Check your bank account(s) regularly and report anything suspicious to your bank;

5. Look for giveaway signs of phishing e-mails:

6. If it’s not addressed to you personally; If you’re not the only recipient; If there are spelling mistakes, poor grammar or syntax or other clumsy use of language.

7 Install Internet security software and keep anti-virus updated; Install security patches;

8. Be wary of unsolicited e-mail or IM messages;

9. Be careful about logging in with Administrator rights;

10 Backup your data.

Here is a story of a model Liskula Cohen who files charges against a certain blogger for an oral defamation basing from the articles that the blogger wrote against Cohen and because of this the Google our provider for free blogsite was forced to reveal the identity of the said blogger.

This story will serve as a mirror in our day-to-day writings of our blogs, that we must be careful with our words and comments, that we must treat our subject with respect.

"Liskula Cohen is a Canadian-born model, best known for her appearances in fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Cleo. When she discovered that a blog called Skanks in NYC, hosted on Google’s Blogger, had been referring to her as “skank” and “old hag,” she decided to press Google (Google) to reveal the identity of the blogger through court, and the court has now decided in her favor.

One quote is enough to show the nature of the blog: “How old is this skank? 40 something? She’s a psychotic, lying, whoring, still going to clubs at her age, skank.” However, the blogger’s lawyer argued that these comments are his opinions and hyperbole – trash talk, if you will – but Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Joan Madden decided that “the thrust of the blog is that [Cohen] is a sexually promiscuous woman,” and that Cohen is entitled to sue the blogger for defamation.

This also means that Google will have to reveal the identity of the blogger in question; an important move that will set a precedent for future cases such as this one. The blogger in question has, without a doubt, been very offensive towards Cohen, as can be seen in the above quote. However, as we all know, the internet is full of offensive comments and broad negative statements of all kinds.

On the upside, this decision will make people think twice about posting offensive posts and comments about someone, as they’re no longer protected by a shroud of anonymity. On the other hand, it might trigger a flood of similar lawsuits, perhaps for trivial reasons, which can in turn have serious implications on everyone’s online privacy."

A new published invention I found in the web, this is the "Soda for Fuel" and to be more specific it uses Mountain Dew. This invention really interest me for this new discovery brings lots of probabilities in solving the increasing price of fuels. This might be one of the alternative fuels that we are looking for. Just look at the video below...I can't explain it to you, what I only got here is the description of the invention from the inventor Paul Patone.

What is Blu-ray Disc(Define)

While I am surfing the web, looking for the latest news and trends, I came to an article that the Sharp Company floods Japan with 13 kinds of LCD TV with built-in Blu-ray recorder. This LCD TV with built-in blu-ray recorder is known as DX2 series with screens measuring 26/32/40/46 and 52 inches and this DX2 series will be on sale this coming September 9, 2009 in Japan only. How I wish it will be also on sale here in the Philippines since LCD TVs here is quiet expensive and only few have the financial ability to buy it. But what is Blu-ray disc, I know this term is quiet common to us but honestly speaking I don't know what is Blu-ray really is. I made a few searches and this what I've got....

" Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is the name of a next-generation optical disc format jointly developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a group of the world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers (including Apple, Dell, Hitachi, HP, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TDK and Thomson). The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. This extra capacity combined with the use of advanced video and audio codecs will offer consumers an unprecedented HD experience.

While current optical disc technologies such as DVD, DVD±R, DVD±RW, and DVD-RAM rely on a red laser to read and write data, the new format uses a blue-violet laser instead, hence the name Blu-ray. Despite the different type of lasers used, Blu-ray products can easily be made backwards compatible with CDs and DVDs through the use of a BD/DVD/CD compatible optical pickup unit. The benefit of using a blue-violet laser (405nm) is that it has a shorter wavelength than a red laser (650nm), which makes it possible to focus the laser spot with even greater precision. This allows data to be packed more tightly and stored in less space, so it's possible to fit more data on the disc even though it's the same size as a CD/DVD. This together with the change of numerical aperture to 0.85 is what enables Blu-ray Discs to hold 25GB/50GB. Recent development by Pioneer has pushed the storage capacity to 500GB on a single disc by using 20 layers.

Blu-ray is currently supported by about 200 of the world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer, recording media, video game and music companies. The format also has support from all Hollywood studios and countless smaller studios as a successor to today's DVD format. Many studios have also announced that they will begin releasing new feature films on Blu-ray Disc day-and-date with DVD, as well as a continuous slate of catalog titles every month."

We are now in a computerized world and everyday a new inventions, gadgets and softwares are released in the market and one of the most awaited released is the intriguing operating system of Microsoft the "Windows 7". Many are expecting much of this new OS from its features, its system requirements, its user friendly commands, its stability, compatibility and a lot more compared to Windows Vista. Me too is excited to use this new OS on my PC and here is a brief definition of Windows 7 and its hardware requirements.

Windows 7 (formerly codenamed Blackcomb and Vienna) is an upcoming version of Microsoft Windows, a series of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, tablet PCs and media center PCs. Windows 7 was released to manufacturing on July 22, 2009 with general retail availability set for October 22, 2009, less than three years after the release of its predecessor, Windows Vista. Windows 7's server counterpart, Windows Server 2008 R2, is slated for release at the same time.

Unlike its predecessor, which introduced a large number of new features, Windows 7 is intended to be a more focused, incremental upgrade to the Windows line, with the goal of being fully compatible with applications and hardware with which Windows Vista is already compatible. Windows 7 focus on multi-touch support, a redesigned Windows Shell with a new taskbar, a home networking system called HomeGroup and performance improvements.

Every version of Windows Operating System comes with different features and functionality, thus it has also different shortcut keys to help make users more productive. Windows 7, known as the improve version of Windows Vista will soon be release this coming October 22, 2009 and like Xp and Vista it has also shortcut keys that we must know. In Windows Explorer, activate an additional file preview pane to the right side of the window with this new shortcut. This panel is great for previewing images in your photos directory.

Pressing the Windows and plus or minus keys activates the Magnifier, which lets you zoom in on the entire desktop or open a rectangular magnifying lens to zoom in and out of parts of your screen. You can customize the Magnifier options to follow your mouse pointer or keyboard cursor. Keep in mind that so far, the Magnifier only works when Aero desktop is enabled.

Windows + Shift + Up
If a window is not maximized, pressing Windows + Up will fill it to your screen. Windows + Down will minimize that active window. Unfortunately, pressing Windows + Up again while a window is minimized won’t return it to its former state.
Windows + Left
Windows + Right
Similar to the shortcut above, hitting these three keys while a window is active will stretch it vertically to the maximum desktop height. The width of the window will however stay the same. Pressing Windows + Down will restore it to its previous size.

Windows + Home
One of the new features of Windows 7 is the ability to automatically make a window fill up half of your screen by dragging to the left or right. This pair of shortcuts performs the same function without your mouse. Once a window is fixed to one side of the screen, you can repeat the shortcut to flip it to the other side. This is useful if you’re extending a desktop across multiple monitors, which prevents you from executing this trick with a mouse.

Windows + E
This shortcut performs a similar function to hovering over a window’s peek menu thumbnail in the Taskbar. The active window will stay on your desktop while every other open application is minimized. Pressing this shortcut again will restore all the other windows.

Windows + P
Automatically opens up a new Explorer window to show your Libraries folder.

Windows + Shift + Left
Windows + Shift + Right
Manage your multiple-monitor more efficiently with this handy shortcut. Windows + P opens up a small overlay that lets you configure a second display or projector. You can switch from a single monitor to dual-display in either mirror or extend desktop mode.

Windows + [Number]
If you are using two or more displays (and who isn’t, these days?), memorize this shortcut to easily move a window from one screen to the other. The window retains its size and relative position on the new screen, which his useful when working with multiple documents. Utilize that real estate!

Windows + T
Programs (and new instances) pinned to your Taskbar can be launched by hitting Windows and the number corresponding to its placement on the Taskbar. Windows + 1, for example, launches the first application, while Windows + 4 will launch the fourth. We realize that this is actually one key-press more than just clicking the icon with your mouse, but it saves your hand the trouble of leaving the comfort of the keyboard.

Windows + Space
Like Alt + Tab (still our all time favorite Windows specific shortcut), Windows + T cycles through your open programs via the Taskbar’s peek menu.

Ctrl + Shift + Click
This combo performs the same function as moving your mouse to the bottom right of the Taskbar. It makes every active window transparent so you can view your desktop. The windows only remain transparent as long as you’re holding down the Windows key.

Ctrl + Click
Hold down Ctrl and Shift while launching an application from the Taskbar or start menu to launch it with full administrative rights.

* Win+Left Arrow and Win+Right Arrow dock;
* Win+Up Arrow and Win+Down Arrow maximizes and restores / minimizes;
* Win+Shift+Up Arrow and Win+Shift+Down Arrow maximizes and restores the vertical size.
By now, you’ve probably seen that Windows 7 does a lot to make window management easier: you can “dock” a window to the left or right half of the screen by simply dragging it to the edge; similarly, you can drag the window to the top of the screen to maximize it, and double-click the window top / bottom border to maximize it vertically with the same
horizontal width. What you might not know is that all these actions are also available with keyboard shortcuts:

List of BIOS Beep codes

If you are a computer students, a computer technician or just a common computer user these list of beep codes might help you in troubleshooting your personal computer or laptops.

When a computer is first turned on, or rebooted, its BIOS performs a power-on self test (POST) to test the system's hardware, checking to make sure that all of the system's hardware components are working properly. Under normal circumstances, the POST will display an error message; however, if the BIOS detects an error before it can access the video card, or if there is a problem with the video card, it will produce a series of beeps, and the pattern of the beeps indicates what kind of problem the BIOS has detected.
Because there are many brands of BIOS, there are no standard beep codes for every BIOS.

The two most-used brands are AMI (American Megatrends International) and Phoenix.

Below are listed the beep codes for AMI systems, and here are the beep codes for Phoenix systems.

AMI Beep Codes

Beep Code Meaning
1 beep DRAM refresh failure. There is a problem in the system memory or the motherboard.
2 beeps Memory parity error. The parity circuit is not working properly.
3 beeps Base 64K RAM failure. There is a problem with the first 64K of system memory.
4 beeps System timer not operational. There is problem with the timer(s) that control functions on the motherboard.
5 beeps Processor failure. The system CPU has failed.
6 beeps Gate A20/keyboard controller failure. The keyboard IC controller has failed, preventing gate A20 from switching the processor to protect mode.
7 beeps Virtual mode exception error.
8 beeps Video memory error. The BIOS cannot write to the frame buffer memory on the video card.
9 beeps ROM checksum error. The BIOS ROM chip on the motherboard is likely faulty.
10 beeps CMOS checksum error. Something on the motherboard is causing an error when trying to interact with the CMOS.
11 beeps Bad cache memory. An error in the level 2 cache memory.
1 long beep, 2 short Failure in the video system.
1 long beep, 3 short A failure has been detected in memory above 64K.
1 long beep, 8 short Display test failure.
Continuous beeping A problem with the memory or video.
